OUR MISSION
We always grow better together :)
Climate Garden is a national, student-led environmental organization that focuses on fighting food insecurity and promoting climate education through hands-on community gardening. Since we started in 2021, we’ve expanded to create 25 community gardens across the U.S.—14 of them in Orange County, California and 11 in other states. These gardens serve as spaces for students to learn about sustainability while actively contributing to their local communities.

So far, we’ve donated over 20,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to local food banks, helping families in need. But Climate Garden is about more than just growing food—we’re also about growing leaders. With the help of over 250 dedicated volunteers, we’ve involved more than 12,000 students in our mission. These students don’t just plant and harvest; they take on leadership roles, plan educational workshops, organize community events, and even help develop new garden sites.

In addition to the hands-on work in the gardens, Climate Garden is making an impact on a larger scale through policy advocacy. We drafted and proposed ACR 162, the first youth climate resolution ever introduced in the California Legislature. This resolution created California Youth Climate Action Day, which promotes environmental education and action across the state. Our policy work, combined with our community projects, is empowering young people to take the lead on addressing climate change.

Our ultimate goal is to create sustainable and resilient communities by combining environmental activism with practical action. As Climate Garden continues to grow, we are committed to expanding our reach and making a lasting difference. We believe that by giving students the tools and opportunities to lead, we can create a future where communities across the country are more sustainable and prepared to tackle the challenges of climate change.
OUR THREE PILLARS

WE BELIEVE IN INTEGRITY, INNOVATION, AND CREATIVITY
Climate change is urgent. Working together, we must think of new, creative solutions to this global issue and mobilize our team in a movement to eradicate fossil fuels.
WE WORK TOWARDS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Here at Climate Garden, we aspire to teach elementary and middle school students about protecting the environment and the gratification that comes along with service. Through our workshops, we hope to inspire in our students a wake-up call to make a difference in this century.

WE CARE FOR EACH OTHER
Even though this climate crisis is demanding, the only way to get forward and succeed is to work together. We need to care for each other and work as a team as that is the only way to make societal change. At Climate Garden, we aim to create an atmosphere of love and creativity, where each member of our team can benefit from each other.
"You cannot have climate justice without racial justice. It isn't justice if it doesn't include everyone."
- Vanessa Nakate, climate activist
